Work History

Freelance Hair & Makeup Artist, 2014-2020

As a Hair and Makeup Artist I have worked on film, television and in theatre, both touring and in the West End. Creativity and communication are paramount to this role as I have to work with a wide range of people from designers to artists, making them feel at ease while I style them. Due to the
nature of these industries, I am used to working in high pressure situations and in a fast paced environment. I also often have to adapt and learn new skills quickly.

Volunteer Hairdresser, Mildmay Hospital, 2019-2020

While working full time I also volunteer at a local hospital to cut the hair of patients with ongoing and long term illnesses. While doing this I have met a variety of people who I would not otherwise
have come into contact with, and this has helped develop my skills in dealing with people and sometimes uncomfortable situations.

Retail Makeup Artist, MAC Cosmetics, 2013–2014

As a Retail Makeup Artist I dealt directly with customers, helping them find the product that they were after, and advising on alternatives where appropriate. It was also important that I worked as part of a team, ensuring that there was adequate stock in store. In addition to this, I developed
strong numerical skills while handling cash payments, and gained an understanding of operating till systems.

Sales Assistant, Debenhams, 2009-2011

I worked in the menswear department, dealing with customers giving impeccable customer service, working the tills, making sure the stock rooms where tidy and fully stocked and assisting in the fitting
rooms. I was part of a small and close knit team. I was also responsible for cashing up at the end of the day.
